Line-work is the art of tattooing where detail is critical. You would be surprised to find out that most of that work is handled…in preparation and stenciling. Research and finding a great subject to use as a base for a piece like this is important. Better yet, a drawing or personal art from the client. The right base is perfect to help create the most detailed stencil. Once the stencil is done, just following the lines with a steady hand is all that is left. I don’t want to downplay the importance of line-work when inking. It does take a lot of training, experience, and practice to do good work, but part of that process is organization and preparation. This intricate Lotus and Mandala Tattoo ‘illustrates’ that perfectly. What do you all think? Let me know on Facebook, Google Plus, or Twitter.
